Jeff Koh - President

Jeff is an associate in Barack Ferrazzano's Corporate & Securities Group. He represents U.S. and international clients on a wide range of transactional matters, including mergers & acquisitions, issuances of equity and debt securities, joint ventures, cross-border transactions, venture capital, asset management, strategic business planning, corporate governance, entity formation and other contractual matters and negotiations. Prior to joining Barack Ferrazzano, Jeff worked on private equity buyouts and strategic M&A in the Chicago office of a large international law firm. He has served as a judicial law clerk at the Delaware Court of Chancery for Vice Chancellor John W. Noble, and as a legislative aide at the Hong Kong Legislative Council on derivatives regulation. Jeff devotes significant time to his active pro bono practice, representing clients in the formation of tax-exempt and non-profit organizations and in asylum, indigent defense and family law matters.

Jean Liu - Vice-President, External

Jean Liu is an associate at Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck, LLP. She has extensive experience in handling matters involving commercial litigation, privacy law, and professional liability defense. In addition to the foregoing, Jean regularly represents domestic and London-based insurance carriers with respect to financial institution bonds, and commercial crime, employment practices liability, mortgage banker professional liability, directors and officers liability, and commercial general liability policies. Jean attended the University of California, Irvine, where she received degrees in cognitive science and anthropology, and Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, where she received her law degree and served on the executive boards of the Annals of Health Law, Loyola Consumer Law Review, and APALSA.

Yankun Guo - Vice-President, Internal

Yankun is Principal Attorney at the Law Office of Yankun Guo, where she advises financial services and technology (FinTech) clients on corporate, securities, and regulatory issues. She also advises businesses involved in distributed ledger technologies and blockchain. Previously, she was Regulatory Counsel at Opportunity Financial, LLC. Yankun also worked at CME Group’s Transactions and Commercial Relations Group and Corporate Compliance team. Yankun received a B.S. in Actuarial Science and a B.A in Philosophy at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and her J.D. from The John Marshall Law School. She also serves as Secretary of the Asian American Bar Association Chicago.

Shaun Zhang - Treasurer

Shaun is an associate at McAndrews, Held & Malloy in Chicago where he practices in all areas of intellectual property law with particular focus on patent litigation. Prior to joining McAndrews, he served as in-house patent counsel at HP and Hewlett Packard Enterprise. In those roles, Shaun focused on patent development and strategy, with emphasis on managing lifecycles of large patent portfolios, developing intellectual property strategies, and performing competitive analyses that influence key business decisions. Shaun holds a B.S. in Materials Science and Engineering from Georgia Tech and a J.D. from Georgetown Law. He current serves as co-chair of the Patent Subcommittee of NAPABA and serves on the boards of the Chinese American Bar Association of Greater Chicago and the Law Foundation of the Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Chicago Area.

Hsin-Hsin (Ivy) Lee - Secretary

Hsin-Hsin is an associate at Hlustik, Huizenga, Williams & Vander Woude, Ltd. representing business owners in corporate transactions and operations. Her practice includes conducting M&A related due diligence, negotiating wind farm development contracts, drafting employment agreements, and counseling U.S. businesses on cross-border transactions. In 2013, she founded and operated Efficient Services Inc., a translation company specializing in Chinese-English legal translation for law firms and international corporations. For the past three years, she also regularly volunteers at the Chinatown Pro Bono Clinic. Hsin-Hsin is a graduate of Chicago Loyola School of Law and the University of Michigan.
