Jean Liu - President
Jean Liu is an associate attorney at Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck, LLP. Ms. Liu has extensive experience in handling matters involving commercial litigation, medical malpractice and other professional liability defense, class action defense, employment law, privacy law, and complex insurance coverage. In addition to the foregoing, Ms. Liu regularly represents domestic and London-based insurance carriers with respect to financial institution bonds, and commercial crime, employment practices liability, mortgage banker professional liability, directors and officers liability, and commercial general liability policies. Ms. Liu attended the University of California, Irvine, where she received degrees in cognitive science and anthropology, and Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, where she received her law degree and served on the executive boards of the Annals of Health Law, Loyola Consumer Law Review, and APALSA.
Hsin-Hsin (Ivy) Lee - Vice President Internal
Ivy Lee is an associate at Hlustik, Huizenga, Williams & Vander Woude, Ltd. representing business owners in corporate transactions and operations. Her practice includes M&A, corporate governance, real estate, and counseling U.S. businesses on cross-border transactions. From 2013 to 2016, she founded and operated Efficient Services Inc., a translation company specializing in Chinese-English legal translation for law firms and international corporations. Since 2013, she also regularly volunteers at the Chinatown Pro Bono Clinic where she provides free legal consultation related to landlord tenant, wills & trusts, divorce, and immigration. Ms. Lee is a graduate of Chicago Loyola School of Law and the University of Michigan.
George Wu - Vice President External
Dr. George Wu is an experienced Intellectual Property attorney who focuses his practice on biomedical-related matters and cutting-edge technologies. He is experienced in counseling clients on patent applications as well as trademark and copyright registrations, specifically in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, chemical, and medical device industries. Dr. Wu also represents clients in Inter Partes Reviews at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and 337 investigations before the International Trade Commission. Alongside 14 years of legal experience, his strong technical background in molecular and cell biology provides him with an additional perspective when advising clients.
Summer Du - Secretary
Summer Du is an assistant corporation counsel for the City of Chicago Law Department, Collections, Ownership, and Administrative Litigation Division. Her practice focuses on debt collection, and creditors’ rights. Prior to City of Chicago, Ms. Du worked at a Fortune 500 company as a senior compliance associate. She has also been a regular volunteer at Chinatown Pro Bono Clinic, consulting clients in domestic relation matters. Ms. Du was a clerk of Judge Mark J. Lopez in Cook County, and APALSA president of DePaul University College of Law in 2014-2015. Before law school, She worked as a sports event organizer in 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, and Coppa Italia 2011.
Jonathan Yee - Treasurer
Jon Yee is an associate at Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck, LLP. His practice focuses on insurance coverage litigation involving fidelity bonds and commercial crime policies; professional liability defense; and FINRA matters. Mr. Yee attended the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign where he received a degree in urban and regional planning, and the University of Notre Dame Law School, where he graduated cum laude and served as Treasurer of the Environmental Law Society and Assistant Rector of Stanford Hall.
