Jean Liu - President
Jean Liu is an associate at Kaufman Dolowich & Voluck, LLP. She has extensive experience in handling matters involving commercial litigation, privacy law, and professional liability defense. In addition to the foregoing, Jean regularly represents domestic and London-based insurance carriers with respect to financial institution bonds, and commercial crime, employment practices liability, mortgage banker professional liability, directors and officers liability, and commercial general liability policies. Jean attended the University of California, Irvine, where she received degrees in cognitive science and anthropology, and Loyola University of Chicago School of Law, where she received her law degree and served on the executive boards of the Annals of Health Law, Loyola Consumer Law Review, and APALSA.
Hsin-Hsin (Ivy) Lee - Vice President
Ivy Lee is an associate at Hlustik, Huizenga, Williams & Vander Woude, Ltd. representing business owners in corporate transactions and operations. Her practice includes conducting M&A related due diligence, negotiating wind farm development contracts, drafting employment agreements, and counseling U.S. businesses on cross-border transactions. In 2013, she founded and operated Efficient Services Inc., a translation company specializing in Chinese-English legal translation for law firms and international corporations. For the past three years, she also regularly volunteers at the Chinatown Pro Bono Clinic. Ms. Lee is a graduate of Chicago Loyola School of Law and the University of Michigan.
George Wu - Treasurer
Dr. George Wu is an experienced Intellectual Property attorney who focuses his practice on biomedical-related matters and cutting-edge technologies. He is experienced in counseling clients on patent applications as well as trademark and copyright registrations, specifically in the biotechnology, pharmaceutical, chemical, and medical device industries. George also represents clients in Inter Partes Reviews at the Patent Trial and Appeal Board and 337 investigations before the International Trade Commission. Alongside 14 years of legal experience, his strong technical background in molecular and cell biology provides him with an additional perspective when advising clients.
Summer Du - Secretary
Summer Du is an assistant corporation counsel for the City of Chicago Law Department, Collections, Ownership, and Administrative Litigation Division. Her practice focuses on debt collection, and creditors’ rights. Prior to City of Chicago, Ms. Du worked at a Fortune 500 company as a senior compliance associate. She has also been a regular volunteer at Chinatown Pro Bono Clinic, consulting clients in domestic relation matters. Ms. Du was a clerk of Judge Mark J. Lopez in Cook County, and APALSA president of DePaul University College of Law in 2014-2015. Before law school, She worked as a sports event organizer in 2008 Beijing Olympic Games, and Coppa Italia 2011.
