CABA Board Member Jianing Xie was interviewed by the Chicago Daily Law Bulletin regarding her role in a rapidly evolving sector of the state's legal system, life in lockdown, and her plans for the future. Jianing works as the staff attorney at the Chicago Community Bond Fund, a non-profit legal services organization. She has been dedicated to securing bond for low-income defendants.
One of Jianing's long-term goals for her career is to make legal services accessible for everyone. In addition to CABA, she is also involved in many other legal or community organizations, including Beyond Legal Aid FOIA workshops, Chinatown pro bono clinic, LAGBAC, etc. She also volunteered as a legal observer at several of the Black Lives Matter protests this past summer.
